All the luxury hotel expresses a kind of hybrid lifestyle and features modern furniture pieces with an exclusive design like the angular sofas by Zaha Hadid in the sky lobby. The reception area features a dynamic, striking wood plank pattern, with strained foil ceiling panels in gloss black. Rockwell Group designed the hotel’s luxury bedrooms and indoor-outdoor Electric Lemon modern restaurant by Stephen Starr, while London’s Joyce Wang created the spa and fitness club.Īccording to Christopher Norton, the CEO of Equinox Hotels, about all the interior design project: “We find a balance between luxury and lifestyle.” At this social space, there are low tables with a unique design, modern chairs and exquisite rugs that help to create a propitious atmosphere to have a private conversation. Traveler: Beyond the hotels’ gyms, what kind of fitness-focused in-room amenities and offerings can guests expect?ĬB: We are working with world-renowned leaders to create an inviting environment and bringing to life an intriguing culinary experience that provide healthy and delicious fair. In addition to the club, spa and hotel, we will have an additional 150,000 square feet for office space, and above the hotel will be luxury condos. Traveler: What details can you reveal about the first Equinox hotel?ĬB: The Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards will include the largest club we’ve ever built, 60,000 square feet, with indoor and outdoor space and pools. The hotel experience will enable us to keenly focus on each of those three areas to a degree not possible in our standalone clubs.
Traveler: How will the fitness centers in Equinox hotels differ from the company's current gyms?ĬB: We believe that to maximize results and reach your goals, you need to place equal focus on, and carefully plan, how you move, nourish, and regenerate your body.
